Our Commitment

Our coalition works to stop violence by empowering public safety officials with crucial tools and information. We also help elect leaders who value the input of victims and support the smart use of public resources to deter violent crime.

Make violent criminals pay restitution

Most domestic abusers don't go to prison. Only 1 in
30 are required to work to pay restitution to victims.

We need to dole out much more than a slap on the wrist for criminals who inflict serious physical injury or attempt to kill. All violent offenders should be required to work in prison and pay restitution to victims. Our coalition supports restitution-based sentencing reforms like HB2546, which would require violent offenders to work and contribute to society while in prison.
